Brown-headed Cowbird

The brown-headed cowbird seems to have found suitable breeding habitat in Mississippi. The cut over suburban habitat of much of Mississippi provides ideal breeding habitat for this parasitic species. While some confirmations were achieved by finding cowbird eggs in a red-winged blackbird nest, they are most often confirmed as fledglings.
