Cedar Waxwing

Cedar waxwings are sporadic breeders in Mississippi. The strongest breeding reports are from 1997. Four of the summer sightings in northern to northeastern Mississippi indicate occasions when waxwings likely bred in Mississippi. However, this species often lingers in Mississippi until late spring, resulting in several waxwing observations that are of birds that ultimately migrated.
