Pied-Billed Grebe

Pied-billed grebes build their floating nests in wetlands. Difficult to see in their nesting habitats, pied-bills are most likely to be identified by call (http://identify.whatbird.com/obj/64/_/Pied-billed_Grebe.aspx). More pied-bills are likely breeding in the Delta, particularly in the drainage areas around catfish ponds.
