Prairie warbler

Prairie warblers were most frequently located on ridgetops on which the pine trees had been clear cut.

Prairie warblers are reasonably easy to locate after you have heard the call. Usually a pair can be located or this species can be placed on territory since they do not seem to range far from the field they have chosen to nest in.

The lack of reports from the Delta may reflect the lack of pine groves among the agricultural fields rather than the lack of potential for prairie warblers to be there.
