White-breasted Nuthatch

White-breasted nuthatches are only going to be found in older stands of hardwood trees in Mississippi. The best places to look for them, as the atlas reports indicate, are in the northeastern part of the state or in the loess hills.

This species can usually be paired or placed on territory. The fledglings are not too difficult to find, so confirmation is possible.
