White-eyed Vireo

Mississippi was made for white-eyed vireos. The dense underbrush with moist areas over most of the state provide plenty of nesting habitat. The lack of reports from the northwest delta is interesting and would deserve attention of this atlas, if it is ever updated.

The call of this vireo makes it easy to place them on territory. The young are not too difficult, explaining the large number of confirmations.
