Three-point lighting means the image has three main sources of lighting: 1. A key light 2. A fill light 3. A back light.

In this image, notice that the right side of her face and down in right arm is well lit. This is the lighting created by the key light or the strongest source of lighting.

The fill light in this image is on the left, barely lighting the left side of her face. However, notice that the lighting does illuminate the pearl earrings and part of her left shoulder.

The backlight falls across the top of the model's hair, separating it from the dark background, which is used so that the white letters stand out. The backlight also falls across her shoulders to further separate her body from the background.
